Each week we are going to have NFL analysts, media personalities and other podcast hosts with their prediction for the Chiefs game that week.
Here is our week three pregame and Chiefs predictions.
Matt Williamson – National NFL Analyst – The Chiefs have been the most impressive team in the NFL through two weeks of play and now travel to Los Angeles to face a Chargers team that very well could be 2-0 as well. It won’t be an easy endeavor. I expect Kansas City to 3-0. Travis Kelce, Kareem Hunt and an excellent pass rush will get them through the game. Chargers 23, Chiefs 27
Connor Rogers – Host of the Sticktofootball Podcast – The Chargers haven’t been able to get the ground game going and that won’t change against the Chiefs. Expect another big workload and even bigger performance from Kareem Hunt in this one. Chargers 13, Chiefs 28
Mike Renner, Senior Analyst ProFootballFocus.com – I’m admittedly biased here. The Chargers were my preseason pick to win the AFC West. If they lose this one that prediction goes up in smoke. The Chargers bevy of receiving weapons will make it difficult for the Chiefs to sit in man coverage. The Chiefs corners should be exploited throughout the game. Chargers 20, Chiefs 16
Matt Derrick, Publisher ChiefsDigest.com – Both offenses should be able to move the ball through the air and lead to plenty of scoring but the Chiefs ground game should prove the difference. The Chargers have had difficulties getting Melvin Gordon untracked. The Chiefs are playing the run better than a year ago. The matchup to watch is Keenan Allen vs. Marcus Peters. Allen had a field day for a half against the Chiefs in the 2016 season opener. He looks back to his old form and Allen’s the best test Peters has faced this season. Chargers 24, Chiefs 31
Carrington Harrison – 610 Sports – The Chargers are 5-19 in their last 24 games that were decided by one possession. Bad teams stay bad. Chargers 20, Chiefs 24
Cody Tapp – SportsRadio 810 – This has the feel of another home game for the Chiefs but it is a desperate Chargers team that will give it their all. Running game is the difference and the Chargers will struggle with Hunt. Chargers 24, Chiefs 27
Arrowheads Abroad – Chiefs UK and International Supporters Club (Dave) – The 0-2 Chargers are a couple of missed field goals away from being undefeated also, so it’s imperative the Chiefs don’t sleep on them. They have several quality playmakers on offense in Gordon, Allen and Henry. It’ll be imperative the Chiefs continue to generate pass rush and force Rivers into some mistakes. Ultimately I think the Chiefs just have too much talent for the improving Chargers. This going to feel like a home game on the road in LA. Chargers 17, Chiefs 27
Mark Schofield – Locked on Patriots Senior Analyst – Tough test for the Chiefs this week but they manage to pass it. Philip Rivers has played well the past two weeks, although the standings do not show it. However, the Chiefs have enough on offense to get it done. Chargers 14, Chiefs 17
Ryan Tracy, Locked on Chiefs Senior Analyst – Chiefs head West to LA and are able to gain chunks of yardage on the San Diego defense. Divisional game ends up a close contest but she’s come home 3-0. Chargers 24, Chiefs 28
Chris Clark, Locked on Chiefs Senior Analyst – The Chiefs head to LA to take on the Chargers and while I think they will allow points to Rivers, the Chiefs offense has shown the ability to put up points. Chargers 21, Chiefs 27
For those of you video gamers out there…
Madden 2018 – Chiefs fell behind early but came back to beat Los Angeles. Chargers 17, Chiefs 18
