Here is your Chiefs News for the week of 8/29/17.

Spencer Ware likely out for season with knee injury

Kansas City Chiefs running back Spencer Ware tore his PCL and injured his LCL in the game against the Seahawks.  Even though Ware is seeking a second opinion, his season is most certainly in doubt.  Kareem Hunt will be depended on to lead the backfield, with CJ Spiller and Charcandrick West also lending a hand going into the regular season.

Sloppy play by starters mars Chiefs’ 26-13 preseason loss at Seattle

Several things were to blame for the 26-13 loss to the Seahawks in the Kansas City Chiefs third preseason game, but one glaring issue was several mistakes by the starting lineup.  A game marred by penalties and dropped passes led to mistakes on both offense and defense in the Chiefs “dress rehearsal” for the regular season.

Chiefs harvesting C.J. Spiller’s experience in backfield

CJ Spiller may have a lot to offer the Kansas City Chiefs, and it may not come by way of playing time.  Kareem Hunt will take over the starting job with Spencer Ware going down.  Hunt, although talented, is young and inexperienced.  That’s where Spiller comes into play.  The Chiefs will look to Spiller to aid Hunt’s transition into the starting job.  His experience on the field will be a huge asset in doing that.

Chiefs’ Cairo Santos should be ready for the regular season

After an injury in the offseason, Cairo Santos looks to be ready for the regular season.  Santos has been injured up to this point in the preseason and has yet to practice.  The Chiefs do have kicker Sam Ficken on the roster, but if Santos is to be ready to start the season, it’s yet to be seen if the Chiefs will keep both on the roster.

5 takeaways from the Chiefs’ loss vs. Seahawks

The Kansas City Chiefs had plenty of things to take away from the third preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks.  Both the offense and defense found things they need to work on before the start of the regular season.  Whether it be finding the best way to replace Spencer Ware or making sure the offense is as cohesive as possible heading into the regular season, the last week of the preseason will hopefully answer some of those questions.
